New Jersey Online Casinos Hold Third Place in Gross Gaming Revenue

Home » New Jersey Online Casinos Hold Third Place in Gross Gaming Revenue

As an October report from the New Jersey Gaming Enforcement Authority (DGE) shows, NJ online casinos are firmly among the leaders in the US iGaming industry.

Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) in New Jersey reached $145 million in October. Plus, $2 million to GGR were added by NJ players in online poker.

If online casino fans in New Jersey invest a little more passion and energy in the game, the state could catch up or even overtake Pennsylvania next month, which contributed $152 million to GGR. There is a good chance of that as the top three online casino operators in NJ also hold a strong lead in terms of overall iGaming market share. These are such well-known operators as:

Including their sister brands, they maintain a large market share not only in New Jersey but throughout the country as well.

Borgata Sites Take the Leadership in the New Jersey iGaming Industry

If you see a Borgata license in the documents of your favorite online casino, you know that you are playing with No. 1 in New Jersey gambling market share.

Under this license, you can find:

  • Six online casinos
  • Four online poker sites

Thanks to this, the share of Borgata in the gambling market in NJ is 30%.

Who is the ultimate beneficiary of the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa? This retail casino is operated by MGM Resorts International. This largest company is known to players in New Jersey thanks to the popularity of BetMGM, which it owns on a 50/50 basis with Entain.

All MGM brands, including BetMGM Poker and BetMGM, are licensed by Borgata. In the third quarter of 2022, BetMGM claimed a 31% gambling market share in the US. In October, Borgata brought in $41 million in Gross Gaming Revenue, of which $39 million was earned by BetMGM.

However, such leadership does not mean that the Borgata casino line is closed to cooperation with other brands. Borgata casinos benefit from partnerships with brands that are not related to MGM or Entain. First of all, these are such brands:

  • PalaCasino (including PalaBingoUSA and PalaPoker)
  • ScoresCasino

Second and Third Places Go to Golden Nugget and Resorts

Companies that license online casinos in New Jersey and took 2nd and 3rd places in the rating are significantly inferior to the undisputed leader:

  • Top 2: Golden Nugget Atlantic City Hotel, Casino and Marina with 27% GGR in NJ ($38 million in October)
  • Top 3: Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City with 23% GGR

Golden Nugget, of course, can compete for leadership with Borgata, but if you bet on the results of this competition, Borgata will still be the favorite in the near future.

Within the Golden Nugget family, the most profitable are Stardust Casino and FanDuel Casino, operating online. Together, they made $20 million for Golden Nugget in October.

However, Golden Nugget is not the main owner of the FanDuel Casino website as it operates it in cooperation with Flutter Entertainment, which owns the majority of the revenue.

Final Results: Top Three Online Casinos in New Jersey

If you count the revenues of casinos, as DGE did, the top 3 online casinos in NJ will look like this:

  • BetMGM Casino
  • Draft Kings Casino
  • FanDuel

By playing with them, as well as with the sister sites of the mentioned operators, you not only get a wonderful gaming experience but also contribute to their leadership! And gambling companies will have to work very hard if they want to challenge the order of preferences of NJ players!
